Listen, God is answering you!

God is not rude. He responds to our feeble prayers. That great big God who maintains the universe and all that in it is, will answer when we call.

I’m joining #FiveMinuteFriday over at Kate Motaung’s place. The word prompt is LISTEN. Below is five minutes of free flow writing. The words START and STOP indicate where the timer started and ended. Go!

START

When we think about praying we think about talking.

It’s a verb.

Something we do.  WE talk to God!

What an honor it is to speak to our heavenly father realizing that he will always hear.  That’s part A.

Part B.

He will always answer!

God is not rude.  He responds to our feeble prayers.  That great big God who maintains the universe and all that in it is, will answer when we call.

“Before they call I will answer; while they are yet speaking I will hear”. Isaiah 65:24

I wonder why when we know that he answers; we don’t wait to hear his response.

Maybe we don’t wait because we don’t want to hear what he has to say.

He may say, no.  He may say, yes.  He may give us the dreaded, wait.  He may give us some direction or command us to do something for some else.  No matter the response, he has a word, tailor made from your requests.  He will continue the conversation.

So next time you pray.  Stop and hear what he has to say to you.  Just sit still, quiet your thoughts and listen.

STOP

Hi, I'm Calvonia. I'm so glad you stopped by. I'm a small town girl with old school ways. So come on in, share of cup of hot tea and a real conversation. I've shared my life with my husband, lover and friend, Moses for most of my adult life. Our union has been blessed with three children a couple of in-loves and a few grandchildren. We are so blessed. I love God more than words can articulate and sharing his word and his love with my sisters literally makes me smile. Enough about me, let's talk about Jesus!

  1. We all need to practice this: “So next time you pray. Stop and hear what he has to say to you. Just sit still, quiet your thoughts and listen.” Blessed to be your neighbor at FMF this week.
